Anne Kurris was born in Antwerp in 1959. During her graphic design studies at the Royal Academy and St Lucas in Antwerp, she met Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck and the other Belgian designers who where part of ‘The Antwerp Six’.
After graduating, Anne Kurris worked as a graphic designer for Dries Van Noten, for whom she designed the catalogues and invitations. She became art director of the fashion magazine BAM! and worked for major Belgian cultural institutes like the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels.
The Anne Kurris children’s wear collection was launched in 1998, inspired by pop art and nature, and characterized by bright color combinations and a strong graphic design.
